Tosca is a place in the South African province of Northwest . It is located in the Kagisano-Molopo parish in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district .
geography
Tosca has several hundred inhabitants. It is the largest town in the Tosca-Molopo area, which is around 1625 km² in size and also includes the town of Vergelee to the east . Tosca-Molopo has about 4500 inhabitants. Tosca is about 150 kilometers north of Vryburg . The climate is semi-arid .
history
Tosca was the administrative seat of the municipality of Molopo , which was merged with Kagisano to form the municipality of Kagisano-Molopo in 2011 .
Economy and Transport
The place is agriculturally oriented. It is artificial irrigation operated. Between 1990 and 2000, the water level in the area fell by 20 to 60 meters.
The R378 trunk road leads from Ganyesa in the south via Tosca to the Botswana border in the north-west.
