Tougues is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in northwestern Portugal .
history
Finds prove a prehistoric settlement here from 3,000 to 5,000 BC. BC, particularly on the Mamoas of Mourão and Contra Mourão , which are badly weathered.
The earliest mention of today's place comes from a document of the Moreira monastery from 1069.
Tougues had been the seat of an independent municipality since 1588 at the latest. This belonged to the Maia County until 1836. Since then Tougues has been part of the Vila do Conde County.
With the municipal reform in 2013 , the independent municipality of Tougues was dissolved and merged with Retorta to form the new municipality of Retorta e Tougues .

Togugues was the seat of an independent municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Vila do Conde in the district of Porto . It had an area of 3.3 km² and 892 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the regional reform on September 29, 2013 , the municipalities of Retorta and Tougues were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Retorta e Tougues . Retorta became the seat of this newly formed community.
