Tour Monte Rosa

The Monte Rosa tour is a circular hike through the Swiss and Italian Alps around the Monte Rosa massif with the Dufourspitze ( 4634  m above sea level ). The hiking trail also circles the cathedral (4545 m) in the Mischabel group .

The Monte Rosa Tour is typically hiked with the following stage destinations:

The round can also be started at any other point. In addition to Zermatt, entry points are possible such as Saas-Almagell / Mattmark reservoir , Macugnaga- Staffa or Grächen. The direction in which you are hiking also does not matter. Both clockwise and in the opposite direction, the route is well marked and offers great views of the Monte Rosa massif.

The section from Saas-Fee to Grächen is also called the Balfrin-Höhenweg .

From Grächen to Zermatt you hike on the Europaweg and can spend the night in the Europahütte.
