Tour de la Découverte (German: Tower of Discovery ) is the name of a lighthouse in the Breton port city of Lorient in the Morbihan department .
The tower is located in the Faouëdic harbor district on the site of the old Loc-Roc'h-Yan castle . The first 25 m high tower was built between 1737 and 1744. It was rebuilt between 1785 and 1786 after fires and lightning strikes.
From the tower, the entire bay of Lorient, up to Belle Île and the Glénan Islands can be seen.
The spiral staircase consists of 208 granite steps.
