Toussaint Franchi

Toussaint Franchi (born May 27, 1893 in Ota , Corsica , † October 12, 1968 in Marseille ) was a French politician. From 1939 to 1942 he was a member of the National Assembly .

After graduating from Lycée Thiers , Franchi first studied law, but then decided to study medicine. He became a socialist deputy in the city council of Marseille. After the MP Henri Tasso moved from the National Assembly to the Senate in 1939 , a seat in the National Assembly became vacant. Franchi could win this one. He voted for the Vichy regime's Enabling Act in 1940 . During the liberation of France, he supported the resistance and looked after the wounded. Nevertheless, he was expelled from the SFIO for voting for the Enabling Act. In 1950 he was resumed. From 1953 he was Deputy Mayor of Marseilles. Franchi died in 1968.
