Traugott Georg Wittuhn (* 31 July 1900 in Kröslin , † 20 July 1979 in Hamburg ) was a German film production manager , line producer , screenwriter and documentary - director .

Wittuhn had at Berlin University economics studies and subsequent internship at AEG tied mid 20s contacts with the film industry. Initially he worked for Tobis and Terra in various subordinate positions, later also for UFA .

In 1934 Wittuhn was entrusted with the German adaptation of the Czech-Austrian scandal film Ekstase , which had been made two years earlier - the young mime Hedwig Kiesler, who later became Hollywood diva Hedy Lamarr , appeared there naked for a few seconds. In the same year he started working as a screenwriter and was also entrusted with the production of films. In 1936 Eichberg-Film engaged Wittuhn as production manager; in this function was Tr. Georg Wittuhn was also involved in the creation of Richard Eichberg's lavish two-part India film The Tiger of Eschnapur / The Indian Tomb .

After his idea for Carl Froelich 's Tchaikovsky film It was a glittering ball night , Wittuhn was drafted, but was able to work again in the film industry in the Rosenhügel studios in Vienna from 1941 . Until 1943 he shot, together with Dr. Ulrich Kayser, on behalf of the 'Hauptamtes Film der NSDAP', made several contributions to the documentary Der Wille zum Leben , in which the medical services of doctors on war wounded were reported. Among other things, Wittuhn filmed the work of the famous surgeon Prof. Sauerbruch for this work and showed the progress in the development and improvement of prostheses.

In 1943 Wittuhn was drafted and assigned to the Eastern Front and the Netherlands . Wittuhn found it difficult to gain a foothold in post-war films. In 1949 he and his partners founded a small production company (International Film Corporation) in Hamburg, which was involved in the production of documentary, educational and training films. In 1954 the company stopped working and Wittuhn ended his professional life in the service of Allianz insurance .

His son is the Hamburg lawyer Georg Wittuhn (* 1959).
