The first Traber FC Mariendorf is a German football club from Berlin . The home of the 420 member club was initially on the grounds of the Mariendorf harness racing track . Today Traber FC is playing together with SV Blau Weiss Berlin on the sports field on Rathausstrasse .
history
The Traber FC Mariendorf, which was created in 1962, has quickly established itself in high-class local football in West Berlin since it was founded . While the promotion to the regional football league Berlin was still missed until the mid-seventies, this was achieved in 1975 in the newly founded football league Berlin . In what was then the third highest German division, Traber Mariendorf was not able to hold onto the league as seventeenth in the table, and went back to the Berlin amateur league together with SC Staaken and 1. FC Neukölln . In 1977 the club reached the final of the Berlin State Cup , but lost to Hertha Zehlendorf 1: 2. In the associated qualification for participation in the DFB Cup, the Berliners lost 1: 3 to SV Sandhausen in the first main round .
After rising again in 1979, the Traber FC became a fixture in the Berlin league, to which the club belonged until 1990. The best place in the 1985/86 season was a second place behind the former second division club SC Charlottenburg . After the runner-up, the Berliners also took part in the German amateur championship. Traber FC was eliminated in the first main round against SpVgg Landshut .
In 1991, the Traber FC rose initially from the Berlin Association League and in 2001 with FC Treptow from the Berlin State League . After a brief return to the state level, Traber Mariendorf is currently playing (status: 2018/19 season) after his promotion in 2014 in the ninth-class district league A Berlin .
