The Tracto-Technik GmbH & Co. KG , headquartered in Lennestadt - Saalhausen is an international, family-owned in the field of special machines for underground installation and replacement of pipelines. The company, which exports to more than 70 countries, employs 500 people worldwide, including around 400 in Germany (as of April 2018).

history

In 1962 the engineer Paul Schmidt († 1994) founded the company in Lennestadt in a garage. In the early years, devices for pulling out drill rods and duct boards as well as ramming frames were built there. In 1967 the first production hall was built in Lennestadt-Saalhausen and the entry into tube forming technology with the development of the KH hydraulic tube processing machine TUBOMAT 642. In 1970 the entry into trenchless cable and line laying followed. In that year the mole was also created as a symbol for the construction of lines. In 1979, the company built its own chromium, galvanizing and hardening shop. A year later another workshop and an office building were built. In 1982 Tracto-Technik UK Ltd was founded in England. Just one year later, Tracto-Techniques was founded in France. In 1985 the company acquired company property in Lennestadt-Oedingen and built Plant II there, into which the pipe bending technology was outsourced. Between 1987 and 1993 branches were founded in Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Mannheim, Lützen and Golzow. In 1991 TT-Technologies Inc. was founded in the USA. After Paul Schmidt's death, his son Wolfgang Schmidt took over management of the company in 1994. In 1998 Tracto-Technik Australia was founded. In 2000 the branch in Bremen was founded. In the same year, the location in Lützen was expanded. In 2002 the TT-Group GmbH was founded as an umbrella company and a further branch in Lübeck with a focus on software engineering. In 2004 the technology and training center was built in Lennestadt-Langenei. In 2007 the company expanded its portfolio to include geothermal energy. In 2012 the company celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2017, the expansion of the Lennestadt site began with the construction of a logistics center and a new technology center. As of 2018, the company is managed by the managing directors Wolfgang Schmidt (owner / managing director), Timotheus Hofmeister ( CEO ), Meinolf Rameil ( CTO ) and Uwe Prinz ( CMO ).
