Traffic Stop is an American documentary . The short film was directed by Kate Davis . The film was also nominated for Best Documentary Short at the 2018 Academy Awards.

Traffic Stop tells the story of Breaion King, a 26-year-old African American school teacher from Austin , Texas . She is stopped by the police due to a minor traffic crossing. This escalated to a dramatic arrest. The event is on a dashcam detained the police. Breaion King is pulled out of her car by the police and thrown on the ground. The police officers handcuff her on the ground. She is handcuffed to the patrol car. On the drive to jail, she has an insightful conversation with the police officer about race and law enforcement in the United States. During the course of the film, the footage from the dashcam is juxtaposed with scenes from Breaion's everyday life: This juxtaposition creates a comprehensive portrait behind the arrested woman.

The film is based on the story of 28-year-old Sandra Bland , who was arrested in 2015 after a traffic stop in Texas. A few days later, she was found hanged in her prison cell.
