Traffic theater

The Traffik Theater is a free theater ensemble based in Luxembourg and Brussels . It produces musical theater pieces for a young audience.

history

The theater group was founded in 2003 by the Belgian musician Michel Boulanger and the Luxembourg character / actor Dan Tanson. The Traffik Theater has been a permanent production partner of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg since 2006 , with whom it has rehearsed and performed numerous pieces. Since its inception, the theater has produced around 35 pieces, which are performed in 80 guest appearances per year on stages across Europe. Musical theater pieces are rehearsed for a young audience, in which live music, acting and modern puppet theater are in the foreground. The actors in the theater come from all artistic disciplines and have different cultural backgrounds.

repertoire

The theater covers a broad spectrum: from musical puppetry, multimedia children's opera , visual narrative concerts to interactive improvisation performances . The performing musicians are always involved in the theatrical events. Forms of music that are considered to be demanding are used playfully: contemporary noises and own compositions in Little Red Riding Hood , medieval music and Eurodance in Pätterchen D. , interactive improvisation in Das Musikalisches Haus . The Traffik Theater also uses traditional fairy tales . The theater has a unique position as all plays can be performed in German, French and Dutch.

In 2009 the Traffik Theater was awarded the young ohren price for the production of Wanja - a musical winter story .

Productions

The Traffik Theater has so far made joint productions with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg in the Philharmonie Luxembourg , Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg , the Carré Rotondes , Luxembourg, the company of music (Austria) and the Compagnie de l'Arbre Rouge (Belgium) .
