Tragedy is a modern American hardcore punk band from Portland , Oregon , which was founded in 2000 in Memphis (Tennessee) , among others by members of From Ashes Rise and the defunct band His Hero Is Gone .

style

The band's music is characterized by a hard punk sound, which is often interrupted by melodic parts and tempo reductions. Even if they are mostly based on these musical roots, they sometimes go innovative ways that lead to a special, new kind of hardcore. D-beat bands such as Discharge had a major influence on the band .

Tragedy are currently very well known in the DIY hardcore scene. Nevertheless, the band members try not to put themselves in the limelight, so the band still has no official website and the booklets contain very little information about the band. This almost leads to a mystification of the band.
