Transconnect

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transconnect is a universal integration server ( Enterprise Service Bus ) for the integration of software systems in a scalable architecture. This product from SQL Projekt AG is a classic Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) product, which can also be used for business-to-business communication. It also offers tools for setting up business activity monitoring .

Transconnect's development tools and management console are based on Eclipse technology. The central point of an integration are the integration workflows. The various actions are configured and the data flow defined using a BPMN 2.0- compliant display. Data transformations can change the structure and content of the data.

As is usual with EAI architectures, the main benefit of the system is the reduction in the number of interfaces and thus the improvement in maintainability.

Transconnect is used across industries, e. B. in the following sectors:

  • production
  • Healthcare
  • Public service
  • Insurance industry (as BiPRO server)
  • Energy industry

technology

Transconnect works based on messages and is an ESB with a generic approach. Instead of specific adapters for specific systems and functions, there are adapters that can be used in general. The specific system and function are only specified when the processing processes are configured.

The range of functions of Transconnect can be expanded in many places with your own Java classes. Your own time-controlled tasks, mapping functions, adapter plugins and complete adapters can be implemented.

Transconnect uses XML as the internal data format . The data can be transformed with XSLT  (version 1 and 2) and STX . Validations are carried out with XSD . The size of the XML documents is only limited by the storage space available in the internal database.

architecture

TransConnect was originally in C developed. After an upgrade to C ++ , the software was completely redeveloped in Java and can now run on Linux and Windows . It uses numerous XML technologies for data storage, transformations, validation and processing.

In addition to the versioned configuration, a persistence database also saves the application data until it has been successfully processed. This prevents data loss and double processing.

The distribution of data is based on the definition of routes, which can also be dependent on the content of the data (content-based routing). As of version 2.3.0, a process can be created for each route with a graphical editor, with which the processing of the application data is determined.

adapter

Adapters are the link between the transconnect server and the software systems to be integrated. The following adapters are included as standard:

There is also an adapter package for:

Own adapters can be developed or integrated using an adapter framework supplied free of charge. Examples are adapters to the following systems:
