Anja Petersen b. Anja Metzger is a German opera singer with a soprano voice .

life and work

Anja Petersen first completed violin and school music studies in Stuttgart and then her concert exam . During her studies she was a member of the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart and went on concert tours with this ensemble. In 2000 she made her debut as a soloist with the Ensemble Modern at the Klangspuren Festival in Tyrol. From 2002 to 2007 she was - under her maiden name - member of the ensemble of the Oldenburg State Theater , where she took on a number of roles in the lyrical coloratura field, including Gilda, Zerbinetta, Adina, Olympia, several Mozart roles and the title role in Violeta Dinescu's Eréndira (after one Story by Gabriel García Márquez ). In 2006, she was at the premiere of the opera Moon shadows of Younghi Pagh-Paan involved in Stuttgart. In the 2007-08 season she was engaged at the Augsburg Theater , where she sang Despina, Blonde and Oscar.

Since the birth of her daughter in 2008, the singer has been working freelance, mostly in the concert hall with a repertoire from the baroque to the modern. In November 2017 she was able to achieve substantial personal success as Johanna in the world premiere of the opera Der Mieter at the Frankfurt Opera , after she had already performed the Drei Gesänge am open window by Händl Klaus (text) and Arnulf Herrmann (music ) in October 2014 in the Herkulessaal in Munich ) had premiered. The Drei Gesänge represented a pre-release of the opera.
