Traumpfad is a German progressive hard rock band that was founded in Chiemgau in the late 1990s .

history

Faggetter and Brandl played in the death metal band Adapt, Effenberger in the retro rock band Sun Drifting in the 1990s . Both groups were dissolved and the three musicians decided to form a new band together. This was completed in 1997 by the singer Anja Stadler, who left in 1999. In the meantime the name Traumpfad was chosen, the keyboardist Matthias Unterhuber got in and the first concerts were played. Johnny Tietgen replaced Anja Stadler for two years in the early 2000s. Traumpfad appeared briefly as an instrumental band before Flo Huber, previously the drummer of the dark metal band Dissonant, became the new singer in 2003. At the end of the year the band began recording in the studio.

The self-titled debut album was released in 2004, was in German and mixed influences from Deep Purple , The Who , Krautrock and Progressive Rock . In the following year Traumpfad came into contact with RPWL , on whose label Gentle Art of Music the second album was released, whose lyrical-romanticizing lyrics were now increasingly in the tradition of bands like Novalis or Anyone's Daughter . Traumpfad took part in the Austrian Band Contest in 2006/2007 and ultimately took seventh place. Concerts in German-speaking countries followed, including a. with Guru Guru , Bonfire and RPWL. The band's third album was released in 2011 and was musically and lyrically based on its predecessor. Then Unterhuber left the band; It was not until 2015 that a new keyboardist was found in Christoph Parzer, who was replaced by Elias Meier in 2017. The bass player Uli Naleppa replaced founding member Faggetter in the same year. As a result of these line-up changes and due to baby breaks, the band was largely inactive between 2012 and 2017.
