Trelldom is a project by the Norwegian singer Gaahl, which was founded in 1992.
history
The band worked with members from Taake , Gaahlskagg , and Sigfader ; Gaahl, lead singer of the band, later became known as the intermittent lead singer of Gorgoroth . Several of the publications were recorded in the Grieghallen studios and produced by the local employee Pytten.
The recordings for the third album, Til minne… , began in 2001, but due to a hard drive defect in the studio and Gaahl's imprisonment, the release was delayed until 2007. However, he announced that a new album would not be released for that long wanting to wait. Gaahl intends not to break up the band in the distant future either.
Although Gaahl does not intend to perform live, he does not generally reject it.
style
The lyrics are in Norwegian because they are very personal. Some texts are written in ancient Norwegian. As in Gaahl's other side projects, the texts will not be printed.
The albums are designed as a 9-part cycle on the subject of the soul . They are each named with a word from Norse or shamanic mythology, the subject of which they deal with. For example, Til minne… deals with the inheritance of memory or the non-linearity of time.
The series that began with the first three CDs is to be continued soon, according to Gaahl.
