Treofan is a global manufacturer of films for the packaging industry. The headquarters of Treofan Holdings GmbH is in Raunheim, Hesse , and the largest production site is in Neunkirchen, Saarland .
The company produces biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP film).
history
The nucleus of the company was the film activities of the former Hoechst AG , which appeared on the market under the name Trespaphan . In 1999 these were spun off to Celanese AG . In 2002 Celanese sold its film business, which was bundled in its subsidiary Trespaphan GmbH, to the Dor-Mopeflan Group . In 2003 the company name was changed to Treofan. Until mid-June 2018, Treofan was owned by the Italian financial investor M&C , who sold the company to the Canadian company CCL Industries. A legally binding contract was signed on August 6, 2018, which seals the sale of the remaining works to the film manufacturer Jindal Films.

The head of the group is Treofans Holding GmbH , based in Raunheim, to which the two wholly owned subsidiaries Treofan Germany GmbH & Co. KG and Treofan Zwei Holdings GmbH in Neunkirchen belong. There are also offices in Italy and the USA (Treofan America Inc.). In addition to Germany, there are also production facilities in Italy and Mexico (Trespaphan Mexico Holdings GmbH).
