Tribalistas , also known as Os Tribalistas , is a Brazilian band of the Música Popular Brasileira style . The members are the Brazilian musicians Arnaldo Antunes , Carlinhos Brown and Marisa Monte .

The word tribalistas ( Portuguese ) translates as " tribalist " (see also tribalism , neutralism ). Marisa Monte said: “Today we can feel the decadence of individualism not only in music, but also in many other areas. But I believe that some of the most interesting things in life are the result of collective work. ”And Arnaldo Antunes added:“ I think that the album is a confirmation of this tribal idea - to work together and to enjoy more and more the daily being together ”.

The three musicians had worked together several times since the mid-1990s. In March 2001 they met with other musicians to record an album by Arnaldo Antunes. On the sidelines of the recording, the idea of ​​recording a joint album by the three musicians arose. In April 2002 they met to record this album at the house of Marisa Monte, who also produced the album. 13 songs were created in just three weeks. The single Ja sei namorar (translated: I already know how to love) became a No. 1 hit in Brazil in 2003 and was also a great success in a number of other countries. A DVD was also made during the recording of the CD . The camerawoman was Dorinha, the granddaughter of the Brazilian composer Tom Jobim . In 2003 the album won the Latin Grammy Award for best Brazilian contemporary pop album. They also achieved a diamond award for the album and platinum for the video album in Brazil and quadruple platinum in Portugal.
