Tribe of Judah was a band project founded in 2001 by Extreme singer Gary Cherone after he left Van Halen .

In addition to Cherone, the group included former Extreme members Mike Mangini (drums) and Pat Badger (bass), as well as guitarist Leo Mellace and keyboardist Steve Ferlazzo. The band played several concerts in the Boston area and released the album Exit Elvis in 2002 .

Exit Elvis

The eleven-track album Exit Elvis , released in 2002, was produced by Mike Pietrini, Steve Ferlazzo and Steve Catizone and was released on Spitfire Records . The sound is a mix of alternative rock and electronica , and at least one track, Left for Dead , was earmarked for the follow-up album to Van Halen III before Cherone left the band. The cover of Exit Elvis showed Cherone looking down the barrel of a pistol in a three-part series of photos and finally pressing it under his chin as if to commit suicide .

As single was Thanks for Nothing published and produced a video.

Despite positive reviews, in which the modern sound was also described as a mixture of nine inch nails and funk , the group failed to market the album successfully, so it went down commercially. Nevertheless, it was also launched as a download version in 2006, four years after it was first published.
