The Tricorn Mountain (English for Dreispitzberg ) is a 3475 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . As the highest mountain in the Barton Mountains in the Queen Maud Mountains, it rises 6 km east of Graphite Peak about halfway between the head ends of the Falkenhof and Leigh Hunt glaciers .
Participants in a research campaign from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after the tricorn as the traditional headgear of an admiral .
