Trik Turner is an American rap - rock - band from Phoenix , Arizona .
history
The band was founded in 1999. In 2000 they self-published their first album, Black Seas and Brown Trees , with which they were also successful in some pheonix clubs. Shortly thereafter, RCA Records became aware of her and signed her. In 2002 they released their second album Trik Turner , which made it to number 100 on the Billboard 200 . The first single was Family & Friends , a song that made it into the top 10. The second single Sacrifice was released and the third single Father . Although the album sold over 300,000 times, RCA parted ways with Trik Turner in 2002.
reception
Alex Pappademas wrote in Spin in 2002 that Trik Turner was a band that loved hip hop more than understood it. You would often neglect storytelling in favor of banalities, but you would have flow . He criticized the bad rock songs, but praised their deep ballads.
