Trimedoxime bromide is an antidote against poisoning with organophosphates .

In a study on rats that were intoxicated with 26 different organophosphates, trimedoxime had the best antidotic effect compared with obidoxime and pralidoxime . An oxime was considered effective if administration prevented death in at least half of the animals. Trimedoxime was found to be ineffective against seven organophosphates ( trichlorfon , Demeton-S-methyl , pyridafenthion , pirimiphos-methyl , azinphosmethyl , dialifos , dimethoate ), while obidoxime was ineffective against ten and pralidoxime against 14.
