The Trio Eugster is a vocal trio from Dübendorf in the Swiss canton of Zurich.

history

The trio was founded in 1967. It consists of the businessman and real estate trustee Guido Eugster (* 1936), the piano tuner Alex Eugster (* 1937) and the former surveyor and current innkeeper Vic Eugster (* 1940). The three brothers made their first studio recordings in the 1960s. Most of their songs are composed or co-composed by Alex Eugster. Their recipe for success was the then new mixture of Swiss folk music and hits. Under the pseudonym Guy Dübendorfer , Fredy Lienhard wrote several texts (“Ganz de Bappe”, “Dörfs es bitzli meh si”, “Expertise Tango”). Some of the songs by the Trio Eugster have become evergreens .

Since it was difficult to arouse the interest of music producers, the trio founded their own record company in 1971, Eugster Musikproduktionen AG , which is called Trio Eugster AG from 1997 to 2003 and since then Tell Music AG . Vic Eugster was the first managing director of this company from 1971, with whom the Trio Eugster, together with Hans Gmür and Ines Torelli, produced their hit Gigi von Arosa . Numerous television appearances and tours followed by 1979, which made the vocal trio known far beyond Swiss borders.

Setbacks

In view of the increasing success, Guido Eugster sold his real estate company, which was later blamed for dubious business. The company name Eugster Immobilien was not changed, and so the incidents were linked several times with the trio Eugster, although no contacts had existed for a long time.

The Trio Eugster also performs with Ländler bands after their longer breaks . Among other things, they sing newly developed song texts to tried and tested country melodies. The Trio Eugster has sold around two million records.
