The Triumvirate Glacier ( triumvirate English for " Triumvirate ") is a 43 km long valley glacier in the Tordrillo Mountains in Alaska ( USA ). The glacier got its name from the US Geological Survey (USGS) because, from their point of view, it emerges from the union of three large glaciers.
The 2600 m high nutrient area of the Triumvirate Glacier lies on the northern flank of Mount Talachulitna . The glacier flows mainly in an east-southeast direction and ends 5.5 km west of Beluga Lake . There are two glacial lakes on the northern edge of the glacier . The lower one is called Strandline Lake . The Triumvirate Glacier has a maximum width of 4.9 km in the lowest section. The meltwater from the glacier flows into Beluga Lake, which is drained via the Beluga River to Cook Inlet . The Triumvirate Glacier is in retreat.
