Troika is an amusement ride that was launched in 1973 as one of the first amusement rides by the Bremen company HUSS Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG.
construction
The Troika ride consists of 3 lifting arms, which are attached to a rotating central structure on one side and a star-shaped frame construction on the other side, with seven passenger gondolas suspended in a circle on each side. In each gondola, a maximum of 2 people can ride side by side, so that a maximum of 42 people can ride on each trip. The passengers are secured during the journey by a bracket system that can be locked in 5 positions.
Driving style
As soon as the journey begins, the gondolas turn together in a circle counter-clockwise, while the central structure turns at almost the same speed in the opposite direction. The lifting arms can be raised and lowered by up to 40 degrees while driving using hydraulic cylinders. This creates a wave-like driving experience at a height of up to 9 meters.
