Troy (Müritz)
Troja is a district of the municipality of Lärz in the south of the Mecklenburg Lake District .
It is 30 kilometers away from Ankershagen , the former residence of Heinrich Schliemann , the "discoverer" of ancient Troy . However, the district was not given its name, as one might assume, for tourist reasons - Troy was mentioned in the official register of the state calendar for Mecklenburg-Schwerin as early as 1793, 29 years before Schliemann was born. The name is likely to come from the Old Slavic place troj , the plural form for three .
