Tropistethus holosericus is a bug fromthe Rhyparochromidae family .
features
The bugs become 2.3 to 2.8 mm long. They have a black basic color. The head, pronotum and scutellum are black. The corium of the forewings is red-brown. The Cuneus is a little darker in color. The clavus is yellowish. The membrane has a bluish shimmer. The legs and antennae are dark red-brown in color. The species occurs both macropter (fully winged) and micropter (with receding wings).
distribution
Tropistethus holosericus is widespread in Europe. The distribution area of the species extends from southern Scandinavia and southern England in the north to North Africa in the south. In the east, their occurrence extends across Asia Minor and the Caucasus to Central Asia . In Germany, the species is only absent in the west of the North German lowlands .
Way of life
The typical habitat of the bedbugs are open biotopes, mostly in dry and warm locations. The bugs presumably suckle on seeds. The species overwinters as an imago . Reproduction typically takes place in June and July. The adult bugs of the new generation can be observed from the end of August.
