Jule Niemeier (born August 12, 1999 in Dortmund ) is a German tennis player .

Career

Niemeier started playing tennis at the age of three and prefers clay courts. So far she has mainly played tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit .

In April 2016, Niemeier played her first professional tournament at the Wiesbaden Tennis Open 2016 , endowed with 25,000 US dollars , where she received a wildcard for the main field in the women's singles. But already in the first round she lost to the number five seeded Walentina Iwachnenko with 5: 7 and 2: 6.

In 2017, Niemeier completed the junior women’s tournaments in all four Grand Slam tournaments in both singles and doubles.

Niemeier celebrated her greatest success so far as the winner of the ITF Future Nord Kaltenkirchen in June 2018. Already in October 2017, she was able to reach a semifinals of a tournament of the ITF Women's Circuit in Sharm el-Sheikh , where she won Emilie Francati 6: 2, 3: 6 and 4: 6 lost.

In 2018, Niemeier and Anna Gabric were accepted into the Porsche Talent Team Germany of the German Fed Cup team .

In May 2019, Niemeier made her debut on the WTA Tour . She received a wildcard for qualifying for the Nuremberg Insurance Cup 2019 . There she reached the peloton with victories over Ashley Kratzer and Destanee Aiava , where she was then defeated by Kristýna Plíšková with 1: 6 and 3: 6.
