Katharina Gerlach (born February 19, 1998 in Essen ) is a German tennis player .

Career

Gerlach mainly plays at tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won four singles and five doubles titles so far.

At the Nürnberger Versicherungscup 2014 , her first tournament on the WTA Tour , she received a wildcard for qualification ; they defeated there first Ana Vrljić before failing in the second qualifying round to Tereza Martincová . In 2015 Gerlach received a wildcard for the first time to qualify for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix , but failed there in the first round. She also received a wildcard for the Nürnberger Versicherungscup for qualifying in singles and the main draw in doubles ; in both competitions she failed in the first round. At the International Württemberg Championships for the Stuttgart City Cup , she also failed in qualifying and in the first round in doubles.

In September 2016 Gerlach achieved her first victory in an ITF tournament in the individual competition in Ricany , after she had already won her first ITF title in the double competition at the Braunschweig Women's Open together with Katharina Hobgarski . In 2017 Gerlach reached the final in Hammamet, Tunisia, in which she lost to Cristina Dinu 2: 6, 1: 6. This was followed by tournament victories at the ITF tournaments in the $ 15,000 category in Kaltenkirchen and Badenweiler. In doubles, she and Julia Wachaczyk won the $ 60,000 tournament in Versmold . In 2018 Katharina Gerlach defeated Katarzyna Piter in the final in Horb 4: 6, 6: 3, 7: 6 and won an ITF tournament in the $ 25,000 category for the first time.

German Tennis Association

In the German Bundesliga she played for Rochusclub Düsseldorf in 2013 and 2014 . At the end of 2014 Gerlach switched to THC at Vfl Bochum. She currently plays for TP Versmold in the Westphalia League.

Katharina Gerlach is a member of the Porsche Talent Team at the DTB .
