The Troumassee River is one of the longest rivers on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia .

geography

The river has its source in the highlands about 1.5 km east of Mount Gimie in the Quilesse Forest Reserve in the northwesternmost tip of the Micoud quarter , near the border with the Soufrière and Praslin quarters . It runs a short distance to the east and then curves more strongly in a south-easterly direction, where a whole swarm of small brooks from the right and south feed it their water. It then follows the volcanic geography of the island and always runs about half a kilometer south of the border with Praslin, flows north in a wide bed around the district of Ti Rocher (southwest of Micoud ). Then it forms the southern settlement boundary of the main town of Micoud and flows south of the L'Anse Captain in Troumassee Bay into the Atlantic . About 600 m northwest of the estuary it is crossed by the Castries-Vieux Fort Highway .

Neighboring streams and rivers are the short Vollet River in the north, the short Anse Ger River and the Canelles River in the south. In the headwaters, the Roseau River drains about 2 km to the north.
