Troy Elder

Troy Elder (born October 15, 1977 in Bunbury , Western Australia ) is an Australian hockey player . The midfielder was in the squad of the Australian national hockey team ( Kookaburras ), with which he won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics . At the 2000 Olympic Games , he won the bronze medal with the Australian team. Troy Elder is best known as a Sagittarius in penalty corners .

Elder played in Australia in the Australian Hockey League (AHL) for the Queensland Blades and was named Best Player at the 2002 Men's Field Hockey World Championship .

For the 2000/2001 season Elder switched to the Dutch Hoofd class to play with Oranje Zwart in Eindhoven . In 2005 he became Dutch champion with Oranje Zwart.
