Troy Hudson (born March 13, 1976 in Carbondale , Illinois ) is a retired American basketball player and rapper. In 2007 he played as point guard for the NBA team of the Golden State Warriors and was released on January 28, 2008.

Basketball player career

Troy Hudson played college basketball at the University of Missouri and Southern Illinois University . He participated in the 1997 draft but was not selected. On October 3, 1997, he received a contract with Utah Jazz , which released him after only 8 games. On March 23, 1999, he signed the first of three contracts with the Los Angeles Clippers , for which he played until the end of the 1999/00 season. On August 10, 2000 he was hired as a free agent by the Orlando Magic . In his second season in Orlando he had his best season to date with an average of 11.7 points. On August 26th, he moved again as a free agent to the Minnesota Timberwolves , where he achieved personal bests in his first season in 79 games with an average of 14.2 points and 5.7 assists. In the following years, handicapped by injuries, he could not repeat his achievements. On August 3, 2007, the Timberwolves dissolved the contract with Hudson against payment of a severance payment. On September 24, 2007 he was hired by the Golden State Warriors as a free agent, but was rarely used at the beginning of the 2007/08 season and was released on January 28, 2008.

Career as a rapper

In addition to his work as a basketball player, Hudson also works as a rapper under his nickname T-Hud. He recorded about 800 songs and released an album. The album title "Undrafted" alludes to the fact that it was not included in the 1997 draft. The album was released on Gracie Records on May 22, 2007 , but sold very poorly. Apparently only 78 CDs were sold.
