Troy Murphy (born June 13, 1992 ) is an American freestyle skier . He starts in the moguls disciplines, contained moguls and dual moguls.

Career

Murphy mainly participated in the Nor-Am Cup from 2009 to 2014. His best placement was second place in the Moguls competition in Apex in February 2014 . In the World Cup he made his debut on January 19, 2012 in Lake Placid and took 20th place in the Moguls. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Chiesa in Valmalenco he was fifth in the Dual Moguls. In the 2014/15 season he reached four top 10 placings in the World Cup and thus achieved 11th place in the Moguls discipline. At the season highlight, the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , he came 27th in the Dual Moguls and 11th in the Moguls competition. At the end of March 2015 he became the American Mughal Champion.

In the 2016/17 season , Murphy achieved sixth place in the Moguls discipline with six top 10 placements. At the 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he finished 22nd in the Moguls and 11th in the Dual Moguls. On December 21, 2017, he finished third in the Thaiwoo Moguls competition , making it his first World Cup podium.

Murphy has participated in 39 World Cups so far and was among the top ten 13 times. (Status: end of season 2016/17)
