Trsteno is a village in the Dubrovnik Municipality in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia . It is located on the Adriatic Sea .
Trsteno is located under the Jadranska Magistrala and is 20 km from the city of Dubrovnik. Opposite the village is the island of Lopud .
history
The excavation of the old Catholic church in the village proved that Trsteno was inhabited as early as the 5th century. In 1399 Trsteno joined the Republic of Ragusa .
Botanical Garden
Trsteno also has the only botanical garden (arboretum) on the eastern Adriatic coast.
