Boat license plate (Croatia)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Croatian boat license plates are used to identify and identify boats on the Adriatic coast. Every port (Croatian luka ) in Croatia has its own port abbreviation, which consists of two capital letters, similar to the Croatian license plate . The port abbreviation is based on the responsible port authority (Croatian lučka kapetanija ) or an independent branch of the same (Croatian lučka ispostava ) in whose area of responsibility the port is located.

The official boat registration numbers are issued based on the entry of the boat in the official boat register (Croatian očevidnik brodica ). There is an obligation to register from a certain torso length. The actual boat number consists of the abbreviation for the port and a randomly assigned sequence of digits. On the basis of the order in which the port abbreviations and numbers follow one another, the competent authorities or the informed observer can see whether the boat is for private (leisure) purposes or for commercial purposes: Stands the port abbreviation first, and then the number (e.g. DB 2222), if it is a recreational boat, if the port abbreviation is after the number combination (e.g., 31 DB) then it is a vehicle of commercial shipping, e.g. B. a fishing vessel or a vehicle for transporting people (e.g. taxi boat ).
