The Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York , One Central Park West, is a skyscraper located in Manhattan on Columbus Circle . The property is located on the southwest corner of Central Park and is bounded by Broadway to the west, Central Park West to the east and West 61st Street to the north.
Between 1915 and 1966, here is the two-storey stand American Circle Building by William Randolph Hearst . Then the 44-story Gulf and Western Building was built by 1969 . The move out of the main tenant Paramount (until 1989 Gulf and Western Industries ) in 1995 was the reason for the decision to develop a residential building from the office because of the direct proximity to Central Park. The building was gutted down to the steel skeleton and thus completely renovated, as a new building should have been smaller due to the development plan . Due to the lower ceilings in residential buildings, the number of floors could be increased to 52 while the total height remained the same at 178 meters. Architects were Philip Johnson and Costas Kondylis . The opening took place on January 15, 1997.
The five-star hotel has 176 rooms and suites. Prices for one night start at $ 485 as of November 2016. The hotel area is between the 3rd and 17th floors, above which are the condominiums. A renovation of the hotel was completed in September 2010. Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka was responsible for the design . The cost was $ 30 million. The hotel was part of the Leading Hotels of the World association and is owned by the Trump Organization .
The Tower was the location of the film Tower Heist ( Temporary Gangster ).
