Trundle Island is an island in the Biscoe Islands archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Pitt Islands group , it is 1.5 km northeast of Jingle Island .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 were used for mapping purposes by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1959 after Mr. Trundle, a character from the serial novel The Pickwickier (1836-1837) by the British writer Charles Dickens .
