The Trus Madi or Trusmadi ( mal. Gunung Trus Madi ) is Malaysia's second highest mountain. It is located in the state of Sabah , 58 kilometers south of Kinabalu . The Trus Madi is part of the Trusmadi Mountain Range (Trus Madi Range) .
Ascent
Since the Trus Madi is under the administration of the Forestry Department and not, like the Kinabalu, under the administration of Sabah Parks , the ascent of the Trus Madi requires written permission, which must be obtained at least two weeks before the ascent.
Flora and fauna
The area around the Trus Madi is known for its unique flora and fauna. The Nepenthes macrophylla , a species of pitcher plants, deserves a special mention .
The hybrid Nepenthes × trusmadiensis is named after the mountain.
