The Chawanga ( Russian Чаваньга ) is a 52 km long river in the southeast of the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast in Russia .
The river has its origin in the Lower Ondomosero Lake , it flows in a southerly direction and flows into the White Sea at the settlement of the same name . It drains an area of 1210 km². Its mean discharge at the mouth is 14.7 m³ / s.
The river is popular with fishing tourists for salmon fishing .
