Tsunami Bomb is a punk band from Petaluma , USA , that formed in 1998 and disbanded in October 2005. At the end of 2015, however, the band was brought back to life, this time with lead singer Kate Jacobi.

Band history

Dominic Davi formed the band with Kristin McRory after they both left Headborad in February 1998 . On June 26th of the same year Tsunami Bomb played their first concert. At the end of the year McRory left the band and Davi brought Emily Whitehurst, the sister of his roommate at the time, as the new singer into the band. Whitehurst almost always called himself Agent M in connection with the band to emphasize their importance in the band.

The first release was a 7 " split with former Whitehurst band and then guitarist Brian Bourke Plinky . The next 7" was released by Checkmate Records , owned by Hunter Burgan, AFI bassist . After releasing a CD- EP on Tomato Head Records in 2000 , Tsunami Bomb signed with Joe Escalantes ( The Vandals ) Kung Fu Records in 2002 and released their first album there. In 2003 Davi, the band's founder, was asked to leave the band due to personal and artistic differences. He then founded the band Love Equals Death .

In October 2005, Tsunami Bomb broke up because of problems with the "business side of the music industry". The bands The Action Design were formed with Whitehurst and the bassist Matt McKenzie, who was used for Davi, and Nothington with the guitarist Jay Northington and the drummer Gabriel Lindeman. McKenzie also played for Hoobastank for a while .

Tsunami Bomb performed on the Warped Tour and toured the USA, Europe and Japan.

On August 27, 2016, the band announced that they were writing new songs for an album due for release in 2017.
