history

The club was founded on September 3, 1911 as the gymnastics club Einigkeit Brockhagen . In 1921 it took its current name. In addition to handball, the club also offers badminton , parent-child gymnastics , gymnastics , shooting and volleyball . In earlier times there were also departments for football , judo , karate and athletics .

Handball

TuS plays its home games in the sports hall of the Brockhagen primary school, which was opened in 1992.

Men

The handball department was founded in 1932 and attracted national attention for the first time in 1984 when it qualified for the DHB Cup. There the team lost in the first round at TSV Rot-Weiß Niebüll with 18:24. In 2008 the Brockhägern succeeded in promotion to the fourth-class Oberliga Westfalen , from which the team relegated two years later. In the following 2010/11 season, the team could only achieve relegation by the better goal difference against the SC DJK Everswinkel .

A year later, the Brockhagener were relegated from the association league and have been playing in the state league since then. There, in 2014, 2015 and 2018, the rise as runner-up behind the second team of TuS 97 Bielefeld-Jöllenbeck , the TG Hörste and the TV Isselhorst was missed. In 2019, the rise was achieved due to the direct comparison with the TG Hörste.

Women

The handball players of TuS Brockhagen rose in 2016 under the direction of trainer Maik Hahn in the Association League Westphalia. In the following season, the class was successfully held by seventh place. In 2019 the team finished third.
