history
The athletic beginnings and first successes
The gymnastics and sports club Hessisch Oldendorf emerged in the summer of 1928 from the soccer department of the Jahn gymnastics club, which was founded in 1902. Initially, the club was called Sport Club Grün-Weiß from 1928. After the Second World War , regular gaming operations were resumed in 1946/47. In 1950 one was in the county league Grafschaft Schaumburg champion and rose to the district league. The team at that time also included some British who were stationed in the barracks in nearby Hameln . In 1958 the team won the district cup with a 1-0 win over Borussia Hannover. The new stadium on Barksener Weg was opened on November 22nd. After this remarkable achievement the sporting development of the club was however strongly in decline and reached its low point with the descent into the 2nd district class in the season 1968/69.
The golden 1970s and 1980s
With the arrival of Siegfried Gottwald in the 1970/71 season, who supported the club financially as a patron and president, things went steadily upwards. In the 1973/74 season, the first team played again in the district league. On July 29, 1973, a friendly match against the then Yugoslav champions Red Star Belgrade took place, which, despite the deployment of three senior international players on the Belgrade side, was only lost 2-0 in front of around 2500 spectators. 1975/76 was promoted to the Association League South . Before the start of the season, there were friendly matches against former first division club Eintracht Braunschweig with coach Branko Zebec and against the former Belgian first division partners of Racing Club Mechelen.

In the following season, the former venue was given the name "Waldstation", which is still valid today. A friendly game against the first division club Borussia Dortmund with coach Otto Rehhagel was won 1-0 in front of almost 4,000 spectators. On June 15, 1977 they won the Lower Saxony Cup with a 3-1 win against TSV Verden and were thus represented in the DFB-Pokal 1978/79 , where they lost 4-0 to Westfalia Herne in the first main round . In the same season he was promoted to the state league , the second highest amateur class. As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the club's 50th anniversary, a friendly match against Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld took place on July 15, 1978 .

The former team also included former striker Klaus Wunder , who was under contract with FC Bayern Munich from 1974 to 1975 . In addition, the later second division keeper of TSV Havelse Holm Mauritz or Günter Blume , who played for SV Arminia Hannover in the 1960s, were coaches in the club's ranks. In the all-time table of this class (period 1974 to 1994) TuS Hessisch Oldendorf occupies the fortieth place.

When Gottwald's financial support diminished, numerous relegations followed. In the 2001/02 season, the club as a table Fourteenth third relegated from was Bezirksklasse Hameln-Pyrmont . After three years of membership in the district league , they rose in the 2005/06 season to the newly founded performance class a year earlier. Another relegation to the first district class followed in the 2006/07 season. At the beginning of 2007 the club was threatened with bankruptcy, but this could be averted. In the 2009/10 season, TuS Hessisch Oldendorf secured the championship and the associated promotion to the Hameln-Pyrmont performance class. In the following season, third place was just missed out on the march. In the 2011/12 season, the first men's team managed the double. Under the direction of coach Tarik Oenelcin, they won the last championship in the performance class undefeated and won the Hameln-Pyrmont district cup for the first time in the club's history.
After a successful year, the first men's team was withdrawn to the 1st district class due to numerous departures. Since then, there has been work on rebuilding the sport. During the season, the club had to withdraw its team due to insolvency and the failure of the main sponsor and has filed for bankruptcy.
The association is a partner of VfL Wolfsburg as part of the “Kick-off VfL” project, which aims to inspire children and young people to adopt a balanced lifestyle and correct nutrition.
