Tube carcinoma

The tube carcinoma is a malignant tumor of the oviduct (fallopian tube).

distribution

The frequency is given as 1–9 per 100,000 or 0.3 per 100,000 women with a frequency peak between 50 and 60 years.

Staging

The staging is based on the FIGO classification and is determined intraoperatively.

Clinical manifestations

The condition may be asymptomatic or cause lower abdominal pain, vaginal discharge, or bleeding .

diagnosis

In addition to palpation , transvaginal ultrasound and the determination of the tumor markers Cancer-Antigen 125 and CA 19-9 are groundbreaking. Computed tomography or an MRI can be used for surgical planning.

Differential diagnosis

The following are to be distinguished: extrauterine pregnancy , inflammatory diseases ( adnexitis ) and tumors of the ovary .

Prospect of healing

The prognosis is given as a 30–40% survival rate over 5 years, but it depends crucially on the stage of the disease.
