Tui Sutherland
Tui Sutherland (born July 31, 1978 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a writer. She is a member of the Erin Hunter writing team . As an author, she also uses the name Tui T. Sutherland and the pseudonyms Heather Williams and Tamara Summers. She writes stories, picture books, animal stories and novellas for children and young people. Her Avatars trilogy was best known .
Tui Sutherland was named by her parents after the New Zealand bird species Tui . She grew up in Paraguay, Florida, and the Dominican Republic and later moved to New Jersey with her parents . There she attended high school and worked at a theater, where she also took on minor roles. At Williams College she obtained the Bachelor Accounts (BA). She then worked for a few years in New York as an editor at a children's book publisher.
In June 2009 she was champion in the US quiz show Jeopardy for two days .
Tui Sutherland is married and lives in Boston , Massachusetts.
