Tulpenhofstrasse 52

The Villa Tulpenhofstraße 52 in the west end of Offenbach am Main is a listed residential building.

The building

The detached, historicist villa was built between 1899 and 1900 by the Hasenbach brothers' construction company. In 1900, before completion, Dr. med. Ernst Grein (1865–1943) took over the building. Grein had the stairwell and practice rooms designed by the artist Patriz Huber , a member of the Darmstadt artists' colony . It was carried out by the Glückert court furniture factory in Darmstadt.

The family's living quarters were on the ground floor and first floor. The kitchen and utility rooms were located in the basement, and the staff rooms were located in the attic.

The stately, two-storey building with an extended mansard roof is structured by a side risalit with a decorated gable. The elaborate house facade is made of light sandstone and adorned with rich historical forms, mainly in the style of the Renaissance and Rococo . The wrought-iron construction details such as the balustrades and the fencing have also been preserved. The staircase in early Darmstadt Art Nouveau has also been partially preserved. Despite the effects of the war, the villa is overall in a very good state of preservation.

The rear coach house from 1900 is also a listed building.
