The 18 tumuli of Champ Châlon (s) north of the forest of Benon in the extreme north of the Charente-Maritime department in France are concentrated in five necropolises and consist of:

  1. Les Moindreaux à Saint-Jean-de-Liversay (3 tumuli)
  2. Champ-Châlon I à Benon (5 tumuli),
  3. Champ-Châlon II à Benon (2 tumuli),
  4. Les Biarnes à Benon (2 tumuli),
  5. La Pointe à La Laigne (2 tumuli),
  6. Mille-Écus à Benon (3 tumuli),
  7. La Grosse-Motte à Bouhet (1 tumulus ).

They have been excavated since 1979 . All are square and in each tumulus ( barrow ) was a burial chamber with an access corridor. During excavations , skeletal remains accompanied by little pottery ( French vases supports ) were found, which were attributed to the Atlantic Chasséen .
