Turbinicarpus laui is a species of plant in the genus Turbinicarpus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Turbinicarpus laui grows individually with yellowish green, flattened spherical bodies and fiber roots. The bodies reach heights of 0.5 to 1.5 centimeters and diameters of 1.2 to 3.5 centimeters. Their broad, conical humps are 3 to 5 millimeters high. There is no central spine . The radial spines radiating from 6 to 12 are brownish white, more or less straight and 12 to 22 millimeters long.
The white flowers have a brownish central stripe. They are 1.8 to 2.5 centimeters long and 3.1 to 3.5 centimeters in diameter. The slightly elongated, greenish to brown fruits are 5 to 7 millimeters long and reach a diameter of 5 millimeters.
Systematics, distribution and endangerment
Turbinicarpus laui is common in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí . It was first described in 1975 by Charles Edward Glass and Robert Alan Foster .
Turbinicarpus laui is listed in Appendix I of the Washington Convention on Endangered Species . In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN from 2002, she was as " Vulnerable (VU) ", d. H. classified endangered. In 2013 the species was named " Critically Endangered (CR) ". H. critically endangered.
