Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele is a species of plant in the genus Turbinicarpus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele usually grows individually with light green to dark blue-green, spherical to spherical-cylindrical bodies that occasionally sprout and has a large, fleshy beet root. The bodies covered with wool in the crown reach heights of 2 to 4 centimeters and diameters of 2.5 to 3.4 centimeters. Their rounded humps become narrower towards their tip and are 3 to 5 millimeters high. There are 5 to 8 yellowish-brown thorns that turn gray with age and cannot be divided into marginal and central spines. They are bristle-like, twisted, the majority protrude and are 15 to 30 millimeters long.
The white to reddish purple or yellowish green or magenta colored flowers are 2.5 to 3.2 centimeters long and have a diameter of 2 to 3.5 centimeters. The green, almost spherical fruits are 4 to 6 millimeters long.
Systematics, distribution and endangerment
Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele is common in the Mexican states of Hidalgo and Querétaro . It was first described as Strombocactus pseudomacrochele in 1935 by Curt Backeberg . In 1937 he and Franz Buxbaum put it in the genus Turbinicarpus .

- Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele subsp. krainzianus (Gerhart Frank) Glass
- Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele subsp. lausseri (Diers & Gerhart Frank) Glass
Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele is listed in Appendix I of the Washington Convention on Endangered Species . In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN is it and even 2002, turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele subsp. pseudomacrochele as " Vulnerable (VU) ", d. H. classified as endangered. The subspecies Turbinicarpus pseudomacrochele subsp. lausseri was considered " Critically Endangered (CR) " in 2002 . H. as critically endangered. In the 2009 update, the subspecies were not reassessed and were removed from the red list.
