The Turija ( Ukrainian Турія , Russian Турья Turja ) is one of four larger rivers in the Volyn Oblast . It rises near the village of Saturzi in Lokachi district near Wolodymyr-Wolynskyj , flows through the city of Kovel and flows into the Pripyat in the north of Volhynia .
The Turija has a length of 184 km. Its catchment area has an area of 2900 km² and is trapezoidal. In the lowlands the course is partly indistinct, mainly on the right side of the river there are floodplain landscapes.
There are numerous oxbow lakes and adjacent lakes. Many bodies of water in the region are frozen over from December to March.
The Turija is navigable from the Turijsk urban-type settlement to the mouth.
