Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season) is a song by Pete Seeger from 1950. It was first released in 1962 on an album on Columbia Records .

The best-known interpreters of this song are The Byrds , who occupied number one in the US singles charts for three weeks in 1965 with this track. The second album by the Byrds Turn! Turn! Turn! was named after the song. Byrds singer Roger McGuinn had arranged the song for Judy Collins back in 1963 . It appeared on the Judy Collins album # 3.

The text is an adaptation of the Old Testament Bible text from the book Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), chapter 3, verses 1–8 ( LUT ). Seeger presumably used the King James Bible  ( KJV ). Marlene Dietrich sang a complete German version of this song in 1963 under the title For everything comes the time (Glaub ', Glaub', Glaub ') . The East German band Puhdys also used parts of the German translation of these lines in the song When a Person Lives .
