The gymnastics community of 1848 Northeim eV from Northeim is one of the largest and most diverse sports clubs in southern Lower Saxony with around 1700 members .

history
Today's club is the successor to several historical predecessors: The Northeim gymnastics club was founded in 1848 and existed until 1851, after which the Northeim gymnastics movement existed from 1851 until the establishment of the Reich in 1870/71. The successor was MTV Northeim until 1933. The other root of the Northeim gymnastics community was the Northeim gymnastics club (1889–1933 / 34, then until 1945 Northeimer Turnerschaft ). On December 11, 1948, the current association, the Turngemeinde von 1848 Northeim eV, emerged from both associations
Henning Conrad has been chairman of the association since 2009.
